As 2015 comes to an end, I like to take a moment to think about all the amazing things that happened. This year was filled with so many special moments, learning, and amazing new friends. To keep it short and sweet, I'll just name the top five.
1. I got married! It was a crazy, emotional, beautiful day and I wouldn't change it for anything. We have booked our honeymoon after opting to wait a few months after the wedding to settle into married life. In April we will spend a week in Ireland seeing the lush green scenes and of course a few pubs!
2. Amazing Clients! This year I spent more time with each client, focusing on making every experience one we both would look back on with smiles. With more seniors than ever, this year brought fresh faces and with them so many new ideas for locations, themes, and new techniques.
3. So many books! Going into 2015 my goal was to read one business book for every fun book I read to keep my mind growing and learning new ideas. Twenty-six books later and here I am with so many new thoughts and ideas for 2016 that I know it will be the best year yet! I highly recommend picking up something that forces you out of the fiction, sci-fi, or romance box every once in awhile!
4. A new line of portraits! This year I launched the Bare Boudoir portrait line. After shooting boudoir sessions under the radar for so long, I realized that there is a need for women to have a chance to celebrate their bodies, personalities, and sexiness in a classy and tasteful way. The response to this new line has been overwhelmingly positive. Hearing women be wow-ed by their own beauty has been so rewarding. Let's make 2016 the year to banish our own negative thoughts about our bodies, and celebrate them instead.
5. Time management! This one sounds boring, but it really made a difference for me this year. I focused more on accomplishing tasks without distractions. I'm still bad about checking my email more than I'd like to admit, "multitasking" even though it just slows me down, and struggling to step away at the end of the day, but it seems like there was more time for family, friends, and relaxing this year. In 2016 I'm hoping to continue and improve so that there is even more time for the special moments in life.
Looking back makes it so exciting to begin looking forward to 2016! This week, I'm cementing my goals and dreams for the year and laying the foundations to get there. What are you pumped about doing this year?
