Joe is probably one of the most well-rounded seniors I've met. Athletics, musicianship, grades.. he does it all! I first met his family through their work for JDRF, which is a Type 1 Diabetes Research organization. I was lucky enough to help The ONE Event that is hosted yearly here in Columbia by shooting the event this spring. It was a very different day than the day of his senior shoot! Only a few more sessions and we will have shot together every season of the year, which I am so happy about, because this family has become more FRIEND than CLIENT.
Joe's session started with some sports images, more specifically Cross Country Running! I was pumped because while I have shot images of track athletes in that atmosphere, I hadn't had a chance to work with a runner on the trails! I made Joe get a light workout in while we were capturing the in motion running images, but it was totally worth it! We shot some classic portraits and then headed downtown for Joe's more modern portion of the session. Joe had a full suit, which is basically a photographer's dream! Seriously, if you have a son or are a senior guy, you need to bring a suit to your session. A suit is a timeless look that you will never look back on and say "What was I thinking?".
Joe also plays violin, and I was totally nerding out over the fact that he can play the Harry Potter theme song! Yes, I am a HP nerd, and yes I am proud of it! Can I have a musician at every session to play for us while we shoot, because that would be awesome!
