It seems like ages ago that we were shooting Luke's senior pictures on a sunny day at the pool. As it is now, we are swimming in snow here in Columbia! It feels like the perfect day to revisit this awesome photoshoot!
I've found over the years the the swim community is a tight knit group, more like a family. It makes sense when you think of how many hours the team spends together at practice, and how many weekends the families spend together at meets. I've loved getting to work with so many of these seniors, and have started to notice similarities between them. For one thing, they are all high achievers. I assume this has a lot to do with the fact that they've conditioned themselves to do the hard stuff to achieve their goals. A day in life of a swimmer usually has two full practices (morning and night), school all day, and then some of them even have jobs they go to outside of that. Is that crazy or what?! It's no surprise that they are planning to go to school to be lawyers, doctors, etc. They've got the drive to do it!
Senior pictures for swimmers are always an awesome shoot because it means we are going to the pool! There are a few pools we use here in Columbia for photos, which makes scheduling shoots so much easier. It also means that we are able to get tons of different looks, so each swimmer's session is a little different from their friend's. Let's face it, no one wants their senior pictures to be a carbon copy of everyone else they know. That's why I love shooting senior pictures, each senior is a new and unique challenge!
