Moms, are you worried about what to dress your son in for senior portraits? Worried that he might not be open to wearing what you'd like him to? Well this post will help you with that! We do an Outfit Consultation two weeks before the shoot and discuss the options you are considering for the shoot, as well as anything that could be added to compliment your choices. This also helps take some of the heat off of you. For some reason, an outfit suggestion seems to be easier to agree to for a senior if it comes from an outside source. Listen Moms, I am totally OK with being the bad guy. If I can tell something is not working, or something needs to be added, I will tell them so you don't have to fight them on it. I am here to make your life easier when it comes to getting your senior guy ready for these portraits!
Senior guys are the best. They're the best because unlike girls, they generally aren't pumped for their shoot. I think that is because they are used to their school photos looking a little silly, rather than something super masculine and GQ. I love getting to start the shoot, show them a few back of the camera previews, and instantly get to see them realize, "I look good!" Most of them won't say it, but some will, and once they see that they don't look like a vacuum salesman it changes their whole attitude toward the shoot.
Caleb had the best outfits, and even brought a full suit! I know what you're thinking, is that really necessary? No, it isn't a must, but it is an incredibly timeless look that is flattering on every guy. It also adds a formal element to the session that will give you more diversity in the final images. Once we've shot some some casual looks, these formal looks, and then top off the session with your sport/hobby portraits you can bet that you will have one amazing album!
